Recycling

The Town of Hartwick offers residents the FREE use of recycling dumpsters for fiber material (paper and cardboard, etc), and mixed containers (plastic, glass and tin, etc). Addiitionally, there is a scrap metal dumspster available (see below). 

The recycling dumpsters are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and are emptied several times a week since they fill up quickly.  The Hartwick recycling station is the third busiest station in Otsego County.  More information on the recycling dumpsters and what is or is not accepted can be found at the link below and in the "Documents" below:

Household batteries can be recycled with the Call 2 Recycle Program and at the Otsego County Annual Household Hazardous Waste Day each year in early September.  This event is sponsored by the Otsego County Solid Waste Department. 
Scrap Metal revenues are used to defray the costs of Annual Clean Sweep Event.
